At Tri-yoga Calgary you will find everything you need to practice, relax, rejuvenate and get ready to head back into the world!

We also  use natural resources in order to provide a healthy studio space. These are some of the things we have done and continue to do to make the studio as green as we can:

Foam chip Floors

Foams unique characteristics ensure the floor is comfortable even with bare feet, with an optimal floor temperature all year round. Foams shock-absorbing properties relieve strain on feet, joints, legs and back which is perfect for practicing yoga. Our flooring is made on the same material as the green chip blocks often used in class. It provides exceptional comfort and support for the joins. This flooring also encourages core and join stability. We chose foam chip block floors for our hot room for many reasons. It is naturally warm and with a non-slip surface finish that eliminates entrapped dirt, germs or fungus, thus actively contributing to a healthy and hygienic environment. 

Fresh Air Studio 

Tri-yoga was fortunate to have one of the most respected heating system designers in the world (chad Clark) come into our studio during construction and design our heating system from the ground up. Our customized HVAC system includes a high-efficiency furnace, industrial humidifier, UV lights  built into all heating ducts to eliminate bacterial growth,  ERV (energy recovery ventilator) to monitors CO2 levels ensuring levels always stay low by removing CO2 rich air from the studio and replacing it with fresh outside air all while maintaining the hot temperatures in the room – regardless of the how cold it is outside. CO2 levels are often linked to feeling dizzy during hot yoga. Although it is still possible to have this feeling while working and breathing hard it is much less likely when practicing in a studio with an ERV in place. 

Studio Cleaning and Products

Tri-yoga is cleaned each and every day by qualified volunteers as well as once per week by Nature’s Twist. Nature’s Twist is a professional cleaning company which uses only environmentally friendly cleaning products.
Cleaning product of choice: Econo-Clean is a highly concentrated, biodegradeable, phosphate-free, disinfectant and multi-purpose maintenance product with hundreds of applications. Reduce, reuse and recycle. Since Econo-Clean is so highly concentrated, a 4 litre jug goes a very long way, reducing backpacking. You dilute Econo-Clean with water at 3 different strengths, reusing the same spray bottle over and over, rather than throwing out your empty supermarket bottles. When you are done with your 4 litre jug of Econo-Clean concentrate, place it in recycling. 

Natural Mat Disinfectant

We keep our studio rental mats clean with Halfmoon mat cleaner. A synergistic blend of natural cleansing and disinfecting ingredients remove germs and kill germs the natural way. Antibacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic , 100% natural. 

Low VOC Paints

Most paints require the use of petroleum-base solvents, which produce VOCs.  Once in the atmosphere, VOCs react with chemicals to form ozone, a major pollutant. At Tri-Yoga we use a low VOC paint product that has virtually no odour or solvents, and it will not result in adverse affects on people or the quality of environment.
